Welcome to the Bling my Blog series at Me & Marie Learning! Today am I going to share with you how I created a grab box for my blog button. What is a grab box? Basically, if someone wants to place your blog button on their blog/site, they copy the html code in the box and place it on their site and when clicked on, it will link to your blog.
Have you ever placed someone’s blog button on your blog? If not, then here is how:
In your Blogger Dashboard click ‘Layout’ and choose where you want to add the blog button (in the side bar, most likely) and choose ‘Add a Gadget’. Choose html/javascript. Paste the html code from the grab box of the button you want to add. Now your done!
Below is my button grab box. Also can be seen over there ---->
Now, onto the blog button grab box. First, you need to upload your blog button to a image hosting site, such as Photobucket. In the screenshot below you will see that I use Photobucket. Once my image is uploaded, I copy the ‘Direct Link’ code from the Image Links box on the right hand side of the page.
Now, go to your Blogger Dashboard. Add a gadget and choose the html/javascript option. Copy this code into the box:
<table width="100%"> <tr> <td align="center"> <img src="paste Photobucket html code here" alt="Your blog name here" /> </td> <td align="center"> <textarea rows="6" cols="15"> <a href=http://www.your blog address here.blogspot.com/ target="_blank"><img src="paste Photobucket html code here also "alt="Your Blog Name here" /></a> </textarea> </td> </tr> </table>
Personalize the colored text with your own information.
Click Save and now you should see your grab box!
